Jason Baker earned an economics degree from Clemson University after becoming fascinated with the stock market. When he was ten years old, his mother bought him a share of Toys R Us stock. He watched the price in the newspaper, deposited his dividends, and marveled at the magic multiplication when it split. At Clemson, he unlocked the mysteries behind the “magic multiplication.” Rather than quench his passion, it stoked it.

He became a financial advisor in 1994 and through his work with both large national and regional broker dealers has gained respect as an astute and forthright advisor. At Cambridge he has found a broker dealer that understands his dedication and commitment to client goals.

Jason holds the following credentials: Series 4 (Registered Options Principal), Series 7 (General Securities), Series 24 (Registered Principal), Series 63 (Blue Sky Laws), Series 65 (Investment Advisory Representative). He is licensed in the North and South Carolina, as well as several other Mid-Atlantic and Southern States.

He focuses on understanding what a client values most. Once established, values generate goals, and the goals drive the plan. His approach, whether dealing with small business owners or several generations in the same family, is holistic and centers on a healthy balance. The client always remains at the center of the system. By keeping the focus on the client, the portfolio serves the client, not the other way around. Since no system remains static, Jason believes an open, transparent relationship with his clients is of the utmost importance.

Away from work, he loves woodworking, kayaking, fishing and making new memories from one-of-a-kind adventures and experiences. Jason and wife, Dawn, live in the Lake Wylie area with their school age daughter, Jordan and dog, Greenspan.

Although Dawn grew-up in Indiana, she now considers herself a full-fledged North Carolinian. A business graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Dawn entered financial planning after realizing that most of her peers had little financial knowledge. She has been a personal financial advisor since 1998 and Branch Manager of Baker Financial Group since 2000.

Her desire to understand and solve problems combined with her can-do Midwestern attitude makes her a formidable advocate for clients. She knows where the pitfalls are and helps clients avoid the hazards so they can achieve their financial goals. She extends these organizational skills to her entire branch and has been invited to speak at national conventions of her broker-dealer to address successful branch management strategies.

In addition to her being the primary Branch Manager, Dawn is a civic volunteer, participates in charity runs, and is active in her daughter’s school. She is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys running, swimming, traveling and spending as much time as she can with her family.

She lives in Lake Wylie with her daughter, Jordan, husband, Jason, and their six pound dog Greenspan.

Jolene serves as our Operations Associate and is a recent graduate of York Technical College with a degree in Accounting. She was both an active member and the President of her college's chapter of Phi Beta Lambda - the collegiate level of Future Business Leaders of America. She has actively led several student activities and organizations while being awarded both the President's and Dean's List Awards for her academic achievements. She is continuing her education through Columbia College on the path to a Bachelor's of Applied Business. After completing this two year program, she will go on to study and sit for her Certified Financial Planner exam.  

 

In her free time, Jolene loves not only studying and admiring art, but producing her own. She also has a passion for reading, baking, and a great cup of tea! She has quite the tea cup and tea pot collection started!

Having been raised in Illinois and  lived in Chicago for 15 years , Georgia was transferred to the East coast due to a career advancement.  Georgia has a varied background in Personnel Management coupled with a strong background in Sales & Marketing.    Georgia now calls Danville, VA her home.

Georgia, being retired at the time from Delta Airlines, was introduced to the financial industry in the summer of 2008 by an independent financial planner in the Reidsville, NC  who was relocating her business from Greensboro, NC and was in need of someone to assist in setting up the office .  Her outstanding administrative and customer service skills coupled with a vivacious and outgoing personality blended well with the clients the practice serviced.  Georgia joined the Baker Wealth Management Family in June 2016 due to an acquisition of this financial planning practice in Reidsville, NC.  She continues to work as a Client Services Associate/Marketing.

She a mother of one son, Timothy (Tim) and grandmother (OMA) to three grandsons, TJ (Timothy John) 17, Nick 11 and Tres 1 year.  You now know why the last was named Tres.  No girls in this family.  Even the dog is a male.  Trisha has her hands full.  When not being OMA (German for Grandmother), Georgia is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in both NC and VA having served in many stations, is active in her local church community, and various community sponsored events in the Danville area.  In her spare time you can find her working out at the local YMCA , using the pool and sauna.

As a financial advisor with over 12 years of experience, Matt Kocsis sees it as a privilege to partner with his clients and develop a distinct financial path for the future.

 

Immersed in a client-centric theology, coupled with proven success outside the financial industry, Matt offers a unique perspective to help his clients. In his mid-30s, a career change enabled him to fulfill his childhood vision of guiding clients as a financial advisor; it has proven to be a winning formula for both Matt and his clientele. He connects with them openly and objectively, looking at their priorities and end-goals to develop a customized strategy. While Charlotte is where his family has planted its roots, Matt’s Michigan roots still run strong as he enjoys watching the Lions and Red Wings.

Marc La Vigne holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration on Finance from the University of North Texas. A life-long learner, he keeps his skills and acumen up to date with additional coursework each year. His business experience extends beyond the financial world.

He came to Charlotte from Dallas, Texas to establish a racing school at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Once that was accomplished, he transitioned to a partnership that operated vehicle inspection stations. They opened nineteen franchises from Texas to North Carolina. Still, the lure of financial services beckoned. A personal hobby since 1981, he decided to apply the same diligence and passion to make it a career. He has been a personal financial advisor to clients since 1999.

He lives in Charlotte with his wife of over thirty years, Annie. They have two grown children and enjoy water sports like scuba diving. Marc has been a Panthers season ticket holder since 1995 and also enjoys collecting and restoring classic American automobiles. So far, he’s completed a 1957 Thunderbird and a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle, a 1970 Cutlass 442, and 1969 Camaro convertible.

He has been in the financial services industry a number of years and is active in the Financial Planning Association of Georgia.

Carmen takes the time to get to know his client’s needs, wants and aspirations and appreciates the opportunity to hear their life stories. Drawing upon his extensive corporate and life experience he counsels his clients in both life and financial transitions.  His ultimate goal is to help his clients achieve financial independence in a manner that acknowledges individual and family ambitions.

He graduated in 1983 from Siena College in New York with a degree in marketing management and earned an MBA from the State University of New York at Albany in 1985.  Carmen’s 25 years of corporate experience provides him with a keen perspective on juggling the demands of career and family life.

Prior to joining Baker Financial Group, Sanjay began his career as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch in 2011 after a long corporate career at IBM.  Sanjay first became interested in financial planning and investing when he came across a book, Common Sense  by Art Williams.  What fascinated him was a simple chart that demonstrated the cost of waiting to save for retirement.  This illustration stuck with him through his professional career.  Over the years, Sanjay kept his passion for personal finances alive by helping his friends and family with their finances and by later obtaining his Certified Financial Planner® certification.

As a Financial Advisor, Sanjay’s goal is to guide each client to financial success. He strives to help individuals navigate through various market conditions and to build and preserve wealth for a secure retirement.  He understands each client brings with them unique life experiences and different opinions on what it means to be financially secure. Sanjay’s approach is to listen and understand each client’s priorities and needs prior to making any recommendations. Sanjay and his wife Jigna live in Cary, NC and are empty nesters as their daughter is studying at FIT NYC and son is working for a start-up company in Cleveland, OH. Ann Pauley moved to Columbia, SC in 1984 and has enjoyed the pleasant lifestyle and unique charms of the South for almost 30 years.  As one of many transplants, she can attest to the richness of the culture and the joy of being surrounded by people who are sincerely warm and gracious.   She was drawn to a career as a financial planner and advisor, a goal she obtained shortly after completing her college degree.

Ann graduated from Columbia College Summa Cum Laude with a BA degree in Business Administration.  In early 2001, Ann attained her Series 7 (General Securities), Series 66 (Investment Advisor Representative) license and health and life insurance license.   Her focus on financial planning is the basis of her financial practice, allowing her to fully assess and prioritize the current and future needs of her clients before they proceed with a plan of action.  The approach is rewarding, allowing for Ann to develop stronger relationships with her clients.  Ann currently has clients in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Nevada.

Ms. Catt served as the Benefit Manager at UNC Charlotte for five years, and gained valuable expertise in statutory benefits in particular the North Carolina Optional Retirement Plan, the Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System, and the State Health Plan.
